Welcome to the homepage of Hamurana Skies Limited. We offer guided astronomical tours and the opportunity to explore objects in the space through our powerful and fully database-controlled telescopes.
We can also offer overnight accommodation in double rooms in a large and modern house. Please feel free to contact us to discuss accomodation options.
Additionally, we can offer some equipment hire and discreet observation locations for experienced astronomy enthusiasts who wish to bring their own equipment. All these activities occur in the secure and spacious gardens of a private residence in an off street rural setting. The property offers spectacular views of the countryside around Lake Rotorua and the sky above.

My wife and I are both keen astronomy enthusiasts and members of the Rotorua Astronomical Society. We moved back to the Bay of Plenty District at Hamurana in 2021 to discover a beautiful bortle three rated rural sky in our backyard.
Friends, family, and our neighbours have joined us in our backyard and have been amazed at what there is to be seen right above our heads. Hamurana Skies Limited is the product of my combined life experiences and a full year of planning before being registered as company in July of 2024.
