With Easter weekend upon us we have had quite of bit of interest from people who were planning to come to Rotorua this weekend.
Unfortunately, Cyclone Tam has also decided to arrive as a subtropical storm this weekend putting a dampener on outdoor activities if not travel with the hazards associated with the severe wind and rain warnings issued around the country. Of course, we can’t do much in the way of outdoors astronomy with our big telescopes either.
There are alternatives that are available from the comforts of our home in the form of free access to images of space objects produced by the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Telescope.
For your information and entertainment, we recommend the following documentary about the James Webb Telescope.
Ultimate Space Telescope: Making the James Webb Space Telescope This documentary is produced by PBS NOVA and is available for free on YouTube.
NASA also have a webpage dedicated to the James Webb Telescope that includes a library of images of objects in our solar system and deep sky objects many of of which can be observed through our telescopes at Hamurana Skies.
Soak in some science rather than the rain 😊
Have a safe weekend.
